Changed WordPress Theme Already – Lightword

I switched to a different theme having decided I want more of a standard two column layout (compared to what the HemingwayEX theme I recently posted about provided). I am now running the LightWord WordPress theme.

LightWord is a fairly normal theme. It supports 2 or 3 columns as well as a single column layout for pages. There's an option for a wider version which I think I might switch to. Of course the sidebar uses widgets and being one of the more popular free themes around, it has fairly good support for various plugins and versions of WordPress.

I started fiddling around with it already. I've got a few things set up on the sidebar that I didn't have to change at all from the HemingwayEX theme. The awful looking blue background was a result of my trying to implement a different colour scheme in far too short a period of time. I left it looking awful as a reminder to myself to complete my re-colouring efforts sooner rather than later.

The HemingwayEX Theme by Nalin Maker

EDIT: I ended up switching themes to something different after fiddling around with HemingwayEX and not getting it to do quite what I wanted. Take a look at the post about Lightword, the new theme I'm using.

So the theme I'm currently trying out is the HemingwayEX theme by Nalin Makar.

It's got a black/dark and a white/light version built in — neither of which are colour schemes I had planned to use. Messing about with the various colours is pretty high on the list for the tinkering I plan to do. In particular though, links are invisible currently. That has to be changed.

The navigation method is pretty neat I think, but interesting navigation systems are often not very intuitive. I think this is the most likely reason for me to eventually switch to another (more generic) theme. The "Motion" theme was what I was using for ages while this site languished from lack of attention. It has a more standard layout, but it's also fairly popular, so you see it everywhere online.
